Very accurate summary as to the Bible understanding.

The Watchtower Study article of 15th September 2011 made this interpolation:

"But consider the special reference to Israel’s 12 tribes that is found at Matthew 19:28 . Jesus said: “In the re-creation, when the Son of man sits down upon his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also yourselves sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” In this verse, “the twelve tribes of Israel” are those who will be judged by Jesus’ anointed disciples and who are in line to receive eternal life in Paradise on earth."

So because this verse mucks up the spurious and odious teaching that excludes the majority from the the New Covenant and their Mediator - let's change the interpretation and call it "a SPECIAL reference!!!! (Much like changing the context of Romans 6:7)

Do the brothers who dream up these statements (like "new" scrolls) have any conception of what TRUTH is?

Have they no shame or Bible trained conscience? Waken up!!

Sorry GB & Writing Committee, this 'understanding' was just one step too far for one mature sister (husband is M.S.) who spoke to me after the meeting and said that this did not not make sense!

I confirmed her fears by explaining more or less what you said BobCat, that 'come out of' indicates that more will be left behind, on the earth!!

The angel correctly prophesied that the "true knowledge would become abundant", and I am convinced that we are seeing that taking place ever more rapidly now. (Dan. 12:4)

Rumor Elders Will Receive Name Badges For Every Meeting.

i keep hearing rumors elders are going to be getting permanent badge cards to wear to every meeting.

one excited brother told me, "it would be nice if new ones to the kingdom hall could see who their shepherds are.

there is a great surge in activity, new bible students will be able to locate the proper elder in charge of bible studies!

I'm pretty convinced this is a non-story, put about by someone with a fertile/mischievous imagination!

If it was true, I feel many in the congregations who have lost trust & respect in certain "shepherds", (not the position) would look on such ones as being even less worthy of such, thanks to to their superior attitude.

Any truly spiritual and humble brother, would apply the principle at 1 Peter 3:15, and give Scriptural reasons for declining the 'privilege' to stand out in the 'one flock'.

We are continually indoctrinated that the end is coming "soon". Even the brother from another congregation who gave the public talk made a comment, that if we didn't believe the end was coming 'soon', then we had some sort of problem that we had to resolve in our thinking. Regularly in prayers also, brothers speak of things which are going to happen 'soon'.

The truth of the matter is this, Jesus told his apostles that the timing of the end was none of their business!! (Acts 1:7)

He warned them several times that "at a time that they did not expect" he would come. Then what? He was going to settle accounts with his slaves - both faithful ones and evil ones!! (Rev. chapters 2 & 3 and 16:15)

After he's dealt with those in "God's household", (2 Thess. 2:41; 1st Peter 4:17) then he will deal with those who have totally rejected his ransom. (2 Thess. 1:8-10)

Christians have been warned to be concerned about their Christian conduct and identity, not about the time of the end!!

But it keeps everyone on tenterhooks doesn't it? Keeps up the pressure!!!

I appreciate that some among us may take your view, but my point is this - the omission of the word "new" is ample justification for ones such as myself to tactfully show that the "latest"reference about the "scrolls", harmonises beautifully and correctly, with the Scripture - they don't exist in writing or in explanation.

It now leaves no wriggle room for those who have been drip-fed this absurd and spurious teaching!!

You may very well be right - but I don't care what they 'think' they are saying, I can now openly and safely, say to some brothers, that there are definitely no "new" scrolls anymore - based on this Watchtower and the Bible itself!!!

On those two evidences, I rest my case, m'lud!!!

That's one myth out of the way; however, that same paragraph continues to perpetuate two more odious teachings, as if they are Bible truths.

Firstly, "The resurrected ones will be judged, not on the basis of what they did before they died".

Acts 10:42, Acts 17:31, Romans 14:9, 2 Cor. 5:10, 2 Tim. 4:1 & 1 Pet. 4:5 all claim that Jesus is going to judge the dead!! So in the New World, who are the dead whom Jesus is supposed to judge??????

Secondly, Inserting a citation of Romans 6:7 and not commenting on it, is very revealing. The false teaching that this verse is to be taken literally, flies in the face of the context of the previous verses, and outrightly ridicules the ransom sacrifice of Christ, by declaring that a man's own death wipes out his sins!!!

The lack of explanation indicates the reluctance to "dig the hole deeper", because it may elicit stronger reaction from some and give the elders more headaches.

Great Crowd ,who are they in the Bible ?

in the book of revelation the word "great crowd" appears 3 times,it is quite interesting that in all 3 verses it says a great crowd and not the great crowd .could that possibly mean that this is not a specific group but just a multitude of spiritual beings in heaven ?in the same line of reasoning the bible uses the word "a great crowd " in john 6:2 ," 2 but a great crowd kept following him, because they were beholding the signs he was performing upon those who were ill." are we to believe that the great crowd in john 6:2 has any significance ,or identifies a specific group of people with unique attributes?.

The 'great crowd' are described as a vast number of people who come out of the Great Tribulation .

The Great Tribulation is referred to 4 times in the Bible - and only by Christ himself! (Mattew 24:21, 29; Revelation 2:22; 7:14)

At Revelation 2:22,23, it is seen that Christ Jesus himself will cause this Great Tribulation to happen to the Christian congregation as a whole, and to no one else, because of the corrupt practices occurring in 'God's House' at the time of the end, by some influential "Christians".

Matthew 13:41 - "The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will collect out from his kingdom all things that cause stumbling and persons who are doing lawlessness."

Matthew 24:24 - "For false Christs (anointed) and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones."

Acts 20:30 - "from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves."

2 Thess. 2:4 - "The day of Jehovah.......will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god."

2nd Peter 2:1 - "there will also be false teachers among YOU."

1st Peter 4:17 - "The judgement starts first with the House of God ."

The reason the great crowd endure the Great Tribulation, is given at Revelation 7:14 by the angel to John; it's because they have maintained their faith & Christian identity - by 'having washed their robes white in the blood of the Lamb'.

Warnings for TRUE Christians!!

Jesus repeatedly warned his followers that they would not know when he would return. He was not warning unbelievers, he was warning them!!

Why was he warning them? Because of the unsavoury elements which would be present amongst his followers, prior to his return.

2 Thess. 2:4, 1st Peter 4:17, and Revelation chapters 2 & 3 (and other texts) confirm and justify Jesus' warnings to all who claim to be Christians. The following illustrations given by Christ, should be a wake up call to all Christians as to the seriousness of the condition they would in, whether they realised it or not!

(Matthew 24:45-48) Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings. "But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’. (Both the faithful slaves and the evil slaves were in the same house!!)

(Matthew 25:14-15) "For it is just as when a man, about to travel abroad, summoned slaves of his and committed to them his belongings. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, to still another one, to each one according to his own ability, and he went abroad. (All these slaves were in the same household!!)

(Matthew 25:33) And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. (The goats had infiltrated the flock of sheep!!)

(Matthew 13:25) While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat, and left. (The weeds had been planted in the same field as the wheat!!)

I was told by one of my congregation that someone had terminated their Bible study because of the 'explanation' of this Scripture.

The person reasoned that (based on the false interpretation) they didn't have to give up their lifestyle and live as a Christian; all they had to do was live a few more years and then die, and voila - all his sins would be wiped out!!!

Jesus gave a warning to those invalidating God's Word with their wrong teachings - "Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because YOU shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for YOU yourselves do not go in, neither do YOU permit those on their way in to go in." (Matt. 23:13)

Unfortunately, many go against Psalm 146:3 and put their faith in men; men who have no more Holy Spirit or insight, than anyone else!

1 Pet. 4:5 - But these people will render an account to the one ready to judge those living and those dead.

Rev. 20:12 - And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds.

While we're at it, we may as well rip out John 1:29 as well, because it says, "See, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!", and as we all now know, our own death takes away our sins!!!

So Christ's coming to earth and giving his life as a ransom sacrifice was totally unnecessary, because simply by stopping breathing, all our sins are wiped out???

"Sinning against the Holy Spirit" and "deceiving yourselves with false reasoning" are two phrases which spring to mind.
